5 simple ways to share the joy of the season this year

Sending out good cheer this festive season

Some people have faced more challenges than usual over this past year, so this is the perfect time to look for the small joys of the everyday and share those with the people around you.

The magic of the season shows up when we take the time to share the true spirit of the sea. Think about how to bring more joy into the lives of those around us. Whether it’s in your family, at work, or within your community, it’s essential to take time to give a little love. We always love to share a card - even an actual card.

Here are some simple ways to brighten someone’s day:

Share a smile. This year, while you are out and about, smile. Smiles are contagious and can lift the spirits of both the giver and the receiver. See how many smiles you can share.

Share a laugh. Take a break and have a little fun with family and friends. See who can come up with the corniest holiday joke. Play some board games. Make up silly stories. Watch one of the many holiday movies complete with popcorn and hot cocoa. These memories will be priceless.

Share a heartfelt conversation. While we tend to focus on the excitement and anticipation of the holidays, this time of year can be hard for many people. Maybe they’ve lost a family member. Maybe they are having trouble at home or at work. Maybe they are worried about money. Taking the time to talk will mean more to them than you can imagine.

Share your time. Shelters and food pantries always need monetary contributions. But you can also volunteer to serve or deliver meals. Perhaps an elderly neighbour could use some help putting up Christmas decorations. You might even volunteer to help out at a local animal shelter. This is a great way to give some love to animals who may not have homes for the holidays. Your time is valuable, and your willingness to share it will be appreciated.

Share kindness. Most importantly, let’s choose to be kind to one another. When we treat others with kindness, we not only make their day better, but we also spread joy and happiness. It’s a win-win! So let’s all try to be kinder this holiday season and see how much joy we can spread!

The joy of the season comes when you share it with someone else. Happy Holidays! And may you experience the joy of this sharing season.

Cheers
